Petals that make the light move

A calla lily is already shaped like a shade. The petal curls around the centre in a single furl, so the light collects inside the cone and glows brightest at the throat, fading as it spreads outward toward the tip. Because each bloom leans at its own angle, no two glow the same way  the bouquet reads as depth rather than a flat row of lights. The real-touch finish carries the illusion in daylight, when the lights are off and the flowers have to hold up on their own.

Each stem works on its own, with no cable and no plug to hide. Bend the wire core to lengthen the curve, shorten it for a low bowl, or turn a bloom to face the room. Take five for the bedside, keep fifteen on the dining table, then change your mind at the weekend. The bouquet ships without a vase, so it fits the one you already own.

Real calla lilies are beautiful for about six days. These stay exactly as they are  no water going cloudy, no stems bending over, no petals on the table on the seventh morning. Dust them now and then with a dry cloth and that's the whole of the maintenance. They belong on a table in February as easily as in July, which is why they tend to leave the house as gifts more often than people plan.
