By day, a handful of Norfolk pine branches  flat tiered sprays of soft needles, the green that stays green. After dark, warm light runs through the foliage. Micro-LEDs are threaded along the stems and sit beneath the needles, so the glow comes from inside the branch rather than shining at you. Stand them in a vase, lay them along a mantel, or lean one in a corner where a lamp won't fit.

Light that softens a room instead of lighting it up

The light is spread across dozens of tiny LEDs running the length of each branch, then broken up by the needles in front of them. What reaches the room is warm and scattered instead of sharp  closer to a fire than to a lamp. It works on an entryway console, on either side of a fireplace, on a dining table, or in a bedroom corner where a full lamp would be too much.

Needles that make the light move

Norfolk pine grows in flat, layered tiers rather than a dense cone, and that's exactly what makes it work as a light. The needles sit in overlapping planes, so the LEDs behind them are half-hidden and half-exposed  bright at the gaps, soft where a frond covers a bulb. Walk past and the whole branch shimmers. A denser evergreen would simply swallow the light.

Bendable branches, arranged your way

Four branches, each with a wire core that holds whatever shape you give it. Fan them wide in a broad vase, draw them tall and narrow for a slim one, sweep one sideways along a shelf. Split them between two rooms or group all four for real presence. They run on batteries, so there's no cable to hide and no socket to find  set them anywhere in the room, not just near the wall.

Green in December, green in July

No needles dropping on the floor, no water to change, nothing browning at the tips after two weeks. Real cut evergreen looks its best for about ten days; these are identical in the second year. Dust them now and then with a dry cloth and that's the whole of the maintenance. Add a ribbon in December and they read as Christmas  take it off in January and they read as plain, calm greenery, which is the point.
